Modernist Surprise | Westmount, Montréal

January 1, 2012

I loved the old-world charm and character of this neighbourhood. The small streets meandering up and down the hills south of the Parc du Mont-Royal are such an antidote to the grid system of most north-american cities, and certainly Toronto. I was surprised to find a demure modernist house nested into a low hill, and am now curious about Montréal by-laws and how the little modernist house made its way past the zoning office.
