Ensconced in Sun

March 5, 2012

This is not a craft or DIY blog, so I will have to use the cover of the photographing a black dog category to post pictures of the dog bed I managed to make.  As in design.  As in sew.  As in all the seams lined up.  Although, looking at the cushion, I might have ironed the fabric a little better.  In any event, below is my dog ensconced in the bed I made over the last two weekends, taking his Sunday afternoon nap in the sun.  The bottom of the bed has a zipper so that the cushion can be removed, and the top round bolster cover is attached to the bottom of the bed, but the inside bolster cushion is removable.

As far as the photography lesson learned, I see now that while the direct sunlight in the first two photos brings out the shine in the dog’s coat, the softer light when a thin cloud must have crossed the sun is optimal.

What a cutie! The last one if my favorite. And I’d love to make my own dog bed!

I just searched online for patterns, then combined different elements into what I had in mind & then–hoped for the best. 🙂 I’m amazed it turned out so well and doggy seems to like it. Thanks for stopping by!
