Berlin Jewish Museum | Garden and Café

June 1, 2013

In contrast to the Libeskind section of the Berlin Jewish Museum stands the older section of the museum.  The courtyard between the two wings of the building has been closed in with glass to create the café space facing the garden.  The glass enclosure isn’t merely a flat wall, but narrow, angled plates of glass that remind of the shapes comprising the Libeskind building. It was early evening when I visited and the glass picked up the changing colours of the sky as well as the green of the garden.
