Burning Bush Berries | No. 1 and 2
December 29, 2013
There was an eery stillness in my immediate neighbourhood when I took these shots last weekend, the morning after the ice storm, even though there were no mass power outages. It seemed quieter than usual, despite people raking and scraping ice and debris outside their house. Everything seemed oddly still and hushed.
Although the photographs include the bright red of the berries, the way the branches covered in ice intersect with each other reminds me faintly of some of Jackson Pollock’s works, say No. 26A or No. 30. That’s why I thought I’d be cheeky and number my berry photos.
